SUMMARY
A creative exercise into the world of specialised software for dispatchers.
When you work on a lot of client projects, there are times where you're limited on what you can accomplish - whether it's strict requirements, resourcing and cost, or simply lack of time, you don't always get a chance to spread your creative wings.
So I decided to do a little exercise for myself: by coming up with a defined brief to simulate real world constraints, I crafted an Airline Dispatch Dashboard UI as a self directed case study to push my decision making beyond just aesthetic exploration. The goal was to challenge myself to translate complex operational needs into a clear, fast interface that supports time critical decisions, reduces cognitive load and stays usable under pressure.
The final design reflects a robust but visually professional platform. It emphasises prioritisation, progressive disclosure and consistent visual language so dispatchers can process changes quickly, understand impact at a glance and take action instantly. The structure, density and interaction patterns are intentional, optimised for speed, accuracy and confidence, rather than novelty - resulting in a dashboard that feels operational, simple and purpose built for users.
